This is another of Greenford’s small parades of shops, which I think deserves to be given a second glance. It’s right next to Greenford Station and hundreds of commuters walk past it every day but I doubt if many of them bother to notice the lovely details such as the central motif and bands of brickwork. When this was built the station was on the other side of the railway line in Station Approach. It is not symmetrical – it extends a little further to the left and I wonder if a decision was made to build on another shop on that side or a shop to the right was demolished when the Central Line Station was built. There is a central courtyard just beyond this facade. This is the location of an earlier post about empty shops.
