This little garage appears to have been built at a later date than the adjoining house, which has bay windows and an Edwardian look. I can imagine the proud owner of a new car having this built to house it, or even building it himself. Its stepped facade and diamond motif must have been inspired by the exciting new architecture springing up around Greenford at the time, including Jubilee Parade which is a little further down the road. There are still a few of these early garages left, I spotted one of similar vintage in Mornington Road. These survivors of the early days of motoring are usually too small for today’s cars and most of them are now used for storage or as workshops.
