Bus stop, eastbound slip road, Greenford Flyover

There is one day to go and the “Olympic lanes” have come into use, designed to allow the “Olympic family” to reach their destinations in time. It’s strange to think that traffic in our part of west London is being affected by lessons learnt at the Atlanta games in 1996, when athletes missed events they had spent years training for because of transport issues. The closest lane to Greenford is at Hanger Lane gyratory system but it has made the morning commute even more of a challenge, especially as some drivers and bus passengers have no choice but to use this route. Bus stops are displaying posters advising residents to “get ahead of the games” and encouraging cycling as an alternative.
