Sunday evening, Oldfield Lane North at Uneeda Drive

This sums up the concerns of the average Greenford resident at the moment: crime and enviro-crime. The presence of the police van probably indicates that the local Safer Neighbourhoods Team are carrying out one of their regular patrols in this ward. Theft, in all its various forms, seems to be the main problem. Bags of rubbish are left by this bin all the time even though there are regular household and trade collections. I once saw a child slip over and fall onto the ground here because a bag left next to the post box by one of the takeaway outlets had leaked cooking oil. This is yards away from the station and is one of the first things visitors to the area see when they arrive. Welcome to Greenford.

Safer hoods don’t drive caged vans – that would be a Response unit at a call.

Let me know what you think...
