Jubilee beacon, Horsenden Hill

Mohammad Aslam, Mayor of Ealing, lights the borough’s Jubilee beacon. It was one of thousands across the Commonwealth, from Tonga to the Falkland Islands, with the last being lit at Buckingham Palace. This one was organised by the Rotary Club which has a number of branches in the area. People began arriving at the summit of Horsenden Hill while it was still light and quite a crowd had built up by 10.15pm, ready to sing the National Anthem.
