Pedestrian crossing, A40, near Long Drive

One of the more modern and attractive pedestrian crossings over the A40. In the past subways were usual in these situations but increased rainfall has led to flooding which can make them impassable. There are also fears, real or imagined, of being attacked once out of sight in a tunnel. Most people would rather climb the steps or cycle up the slopes to get across. Not very pleasant on cold and windy days but a great vantage point.
